 We love when we receive new artwork at the gallery!  This week we were lucky to welcome the works of artist Elsie Reichenbacher.

Elsie specializes in making mosaics.  She loves the idea of taking something broken and discarded, and through mosaic being able to turn it into something new and beautiful.  Elsie draws her inspiration from religion and music.

Elsie first fell in love with creating icons when she was commissioned to create an icon of Jesus for the Diocese of Corpus Christi in 2011.  Soon after, she paid a visit to Rome; this is when she knew it was her calling to make religious icons.  Her work can also be found on musical instruments, such as discarded guitars.
