Class Description

“Straight from the Pantry: Creating an Organic Abstract Watercolor with Common Kitchen Tools”

Learn an easy method to break out of the realism mold and create a beautiful organic watercolor. You will learn and test several different techniques and then create a 15"x22" abstract. 

 

Supply List

1 sheet of cold press watercolor paper, Arches 140 or 300 (22"x30”) 

Round and flat brushes

Quinacridone Gold (or Raw Sienna), Quinacridone Burnt Scarlet (or Q. Burnt Orange), Manganese Blue Hue (or Cobalt Turquoise Light)

Other colors like Neutral Tint, or Payne’s Gray, Ultramarine Blue or Cobalt Blue, Alizarin Crimson or Rose Madder. 

All the “tools” we will use to create the abstract look will be provided.

   •      President, The Art Club of McKinney, the oldest art club in the state of Texas, 2014-2015

   •      Owner of Mesilla Valley Snacks 1984-2009, formerly, the largest vending corporation in NM

   •       Costume designer and costume mistress of the Las Cruces Chamber Ballet. I re-designed and re-built the ballet,company’s stock of costumes after a fire destroyed a twenty year collection, 1998-2003

   •      Co-owner of The Plant Shop, Athens, GA, horticulture specialist
