Course Description

Have fun with pastels by using different papers and washes to create bright and vibrant effects.The instructor will give demonstrations in still life and landscapes and discuss techniques to complete a unified painting

About the Instructor

Janice Hamilton has studied with many nationally know artist. She enjoys both oils and pastels.  She has a degree in education and has taught in the public schools, and in the continuing education programs.  She has been featured in numerous one-women shows. Her work has been included in the artists of Texas, Volume 1V, Fine Arts Catalog and she was featured as one of the “Master Pastel Artists of the World” in the 2003 June-July issue of the International Artists Magazine.  In 1994 one of her paintings was included in the Dallas Museum for the Art’s Beaus Art’s Auction.

Janice's oils have been included in the Oil Painters of America shows around the country and her pastel was included in the Pastel Society of America show in New York.

She has been asked to give programs and teach workshops for numerous art organizations.  Janice is past-president of the Pastel Society of the Southwest and the Associated Creative Artists of Dallas.  She is a signature member of ACA and Texas & Neighbors.

  Canson neutral colors – no bright colors

  If you are used to working on a sanded ground, bring what you

  are comfortable with.

Board to clip and hold your paper.  (Foam core will work)

Several still life set-ups will be available.

If you prefer landscapes please bring your own photographs
