Gay Banowsky
I have an undergraduate degree with a minor in art from David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tennessee in the 50’s. After ten years traveling from Texas to New Mexico then California with my husband and four sons I began to paint again. While my husband was President of Pepperdine University in Malibu I went back to college and received a masters degree in art from California State University Northridge.
I taught part time at Pepperdine in the art department until we moved to Norman Oklahoma where I taught part time at Oscar Rose College. I have been blessed to have studied under many artists and have been in several galleries. I studied at Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. I started out with watercolor and considered myself a watercolorist, then was wooed by oil and love that medium, however as I have gotten older I became hooked on acrylic which is now my primary medium. Painting for me transports me to a wonderful place. I love it.
