Debbie Landa

Debbie Landa discovered her passion for painting later in life, after friends convinced her to take an art class with them at a local recreation center. She flourished in the class, and before long, she was studying art at the university level.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Debbie attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. After having two children, she returned to college at the University of Texas at Dallas, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and took a number of graduate classes. She has worked in a variety of creative fields, including radio and public relations.

Debbie Landa has always been surrounded by creativity. Her mother was a jazz pianist, so there was always music in the house when she was growing up. Debbie even sang in those days. Her foray into the visual arts was a natural progression.

Debbie has studied painting with renowned artists in New Mexico, California, Florida and Texas. Her favorite subjects to paint are skies and seascapes. She feels lucky to have witnessed the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets during her travels from coast to coast and abroad.

Debbie paints in oil, pastel and acrylic, but she prefers acrylic because it dries fast, enabling her to paint layer upon layer, which is one of her favorite techniques.

Debbie’s work hangs in galleries and private collections in California, New York, Florida, Ohio, Oklahoma and Texas.
