Loveta Strickland

·Born in 1924 in Waco, Texas. Raised in an artistic family. A mother of four. When her youngest child began taking art classes, she found a renewed interest in painting.

·Impressionistic style, with early inspirations drawn from Texas' bluebonnets and wildflowers, focusing later works on garden scenes, for which she has become best-known. She branched off into palette knife techniques in 1991 for its intense colors and dramatic textures. Her abstract works can sometimes be found with the signature K.Kelly, a pseudonym borrowed from her mother, as her abstract works are dramatically different than her audiences normally ssociate with her.  

·Exhibitions include the Spring Fiesta Show at the Fredericksburg Art Gallery where she won Best in Show. She is represented at the Prellop Fine Art Gallery in Salado, Texas. Her work also hangs in the offices of many companies, including Brazos Oak LLC and the Bed & Breakfast on White Rock Creek.
